Two weeks ago during our Art Night we did “Shaving Cream Art”. Colby and Brody are the two boys you see here, they were so patient and waited their turn. We had seen this on the blog Little Wonders’ Days , if you have time take a look around her blog.
We started by squirting shaving cream on a baking sheet then used a spoon to make the shaving cream as even as we could. Once the shaving cream was ready to go we had the kids pick three colors to squirt on the shaving cream. Then we swirled the paint with the end of a spoon. Patty (my mom who leads the class) had cut paper in the shape of a kite. We laid the paper on top of the shaving cream/paint mixture and gently pressed down. We then pulled it up and let it sit for a few seconds (if you let it sit longer than a few seconds it doesn’t turn out as well). We then used a squeegee to take the mixture off our paper, the shaving cream comes off but the paint
stays put. Now we have beautiful kites for our Spring time bulletin board. Pictures of that to come. Enjoy!
