Our Little Mister…The Artist

Cohen’s Grammy and G-Pa Doc have a love for art which is evident when you walk into their house or my dad’s office. I decided it would be fun for Cohen to make a painting for their house and G-Pa Doc’s office for their Valentine’s presents. He was pretty unsure of things at first. The paint brush ended up in his mouth and he had eye liner on one eye…but he enjoyed it so much that he threw a fit when we put everything up. We are hoping that he can do a painting for them every year at some point on different sized canvases, until he grows up and thinks he is to cool. Now to start doing more projects with Cohen and seeing what our little artist comes up with. Happy Valentine’s Day!

Nice artwork. Try marble painting. Take the lid of a box. Boxes that reams of paper come in have good sturdy lids. Turn upside down so it makes a tray. Put paper down in the box lid. Squirt some paint on the paper. Toss 4-5 marbles in the paint and let the little one roll those marbles around in the box across the paper. He can hold the sides of the box and rock it back and forth, making the marbles roll across the paper.

Also put painters tape on a canvas or painting surface. Any design you want. Paint over it. Any design. Then pull off the tape and see what design is left.
